I use this tumblr as a way to reference stuff I find on the web that I want to find again. It's like when your friend gives you a book, and you're reading it, and she's like, underlined and put notes on all sorts of stuff. I'm that friend! And the internet is that book!

They talk about historic districts and stuff like that, but one of the main things is, our architecture is basically copying shit from Europe. But our industry, it’s kind of like jazz, it’s an American, original thing. Why not look at it for what it is? It’s impressive. It might be threatening, but you can’t help but be impressed by it.

Singer, musician and producer Sylvia Robinson circa 1957. Ms. Robinson had a #11 hit, “Love is Strange” in 1957 and another hit, “Pillow Talk,” in 1973 before founding Sugar Hill Records with her husband Joe. She also discovered The Sugar Hill Gang and signed Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five to Sugar Hill Records. Ms. Robinson died on September 29, 2011 in New Jersey.
